Overview

ToolBox is a multi-product SaaS that bundles four productivity and developer tools behind a single login and a single subscription. Users get one dashboard with per-tool usage meters and plan quotas, instead of paying for four separate niche subscriptions.

The Next.js front end and API routes handle auth, quota checks and the UI. Heavy work like PDF rasterising, bulk email sending, site crawling and headless-browser screenshots runs on background job queues on a small VPS, with results stored in the cloud and history in Postgres.

What it does

PDF converter

PDF to JPG, PNG or WebP at up to 300 dpi, single or batch, with ZIP download and history.

Email automation

Contacts with CSV import, lists, templates, campaigns with open/click analytics, drip sequences and one-click unsubscribe.

SEO audit

Site crawler, on-page and technical checks, Core Web Vitals, a 0–100 score, PDF reports and competitor compare.

Bulk screenshots

Desktop, tablet and mobile captures, full page or viewport, with retries, ZIP download and an API.

One dashboard

Tool cards, usage meters, notifications, and Free / Starter / Pro / Business plans.

Developer API keys

Hashed, revocable keys with last-used tracking for the Business tier.

Engineering highlights

  1. Splitting serverless from long jobs

Serverless functions can't run Chromium or minute-long jobs, so work is pushed to four BullMQ queues processed by workers on a VPS (Docker Compose with Redis, workers, an internal API and nginx), and the UI polls job status.

  2. No public Redis

A small Fastify internal API with constant-time bearer-token auth is the only way to enqueue jobs, so Redis is never exposed to the internet.

  3. Race-free quotas

Usage is counted with an atomic Postgres upsert RPC, so concurrent requests can't slip past plan limits.

  4. Billing from Pakistan

Paddle as merchant of record, with signature-verified webhooks syncing the subscription lifecycle.
